The saying here goes, “if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute”, and while usually true, its always a good idea to have a rainy day plan! The Destin area offers a variety of different options to keep both kids and adults entertained on soggy days. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite things to do.
Take a trip to the
Destin Library. Located behind the Whataburger close to the Destin harbor, the public library will rent to area visitors.
Eat! A simple suggestion, I know, but you don’t need a perfect sunny view to enjoy some of the best seafood in the nat
ion.
Visit the
Destin History & Fishing Museum. Located near the library, go check out the history of your favorite vacation destination and blow away your family and friends with all the knowledge they missed out on.
Take the kids to the
Gulfarium to see dolphins, penguins and other saltwater animals. Or the
Emerald Coast Science Center for some hands on learning fun!
Another great way to spend the day is to hit the lanes.
Hurricane Lanes has 20 lanes and a huge arcade, make sure to grab a famous
Tucker Duke burger between games.
If shopping is more your thing Destin is the place for you!
Silver Sands Premium Outlets is the largest designer outlet in the United States boasting over 110 stores. You can also find great shopping at the
Destin Commons and
Grand Boulevard.
Of course, you can always go to a movie. Destin has two theaters, the
Rave 14+ IMAX located in the Destin Commons and
Lively Cinema 10 located beside Old Time Pottery.
You may not want to leave your condo at all. Pick up your favorite book and have a seat on your balcony. It may be raining but its the lovliest rainy view you'll ever see! If you want to order in, you have a few local options. Order a piping hot pizza, sub or pasta dish from
Merlin's,
Jordano's or
Jet's Pizza.
