Annual Music Festival Brings Top Songwriters to the Panhandle

30A Songwriters Festival

The Annual Songwriters Festival Comes to 30A with Over 150 Artists to Perform and Destin Harbor Continues ArtWalk.

The annual 30A Songwriters Festival is a big highlight each year for the beach communities of Northwest Florida. Throughout the weekend of January 17th-19th, the event will feature 150 songwriters and over 200 performances at more than 25 venues along Highway 30A. The festival is in its 5th run and each year, some of the country’s top performers are welcomed to the area. This year is no different with performances by Kristian Bush of Sugarland, Loudon Wainwright III, Shawn Mullins, Ani DiFranco and many more highly esteemed songwriters from around the country. Music lovers unite among the variety of musical styles from folk to rock and blues.

While thousands are drawn to music festivals all year, the Miami Sun Post said, “Pleasing to the ears, easy on the eyes, and soothing to the soul, this is definitely one festival not to be missed.” This event is produced by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County and Russell Carter Artist Management, presented by Visit South Walton. Special lodging packages are available for event goers for daily and weekly stays.

ArtWalk on the Harbor will continue on the third Sunday each month in Destin. The boardwalk turns into a mini art district bringing in local and regional artists to display their unique creations. This is a free event for all ages from 1pm-4pm. The outdoor ice skating rink in The Village of Baytowne Wharf will be open for just a few more weeks. This seasonal highlight is a holiday time favorite and will continue until February 2nd.

Destin has been a popular vacation destination for many years and during winter, people come from all over to spend the holidays in the Florida sunshine. While widely known for sugar white beaches, emerald waters, and exceptional fishing, many flock down south where it’s a little warmer. This time of year is great for family photos with perfect sunsets and brisk air instead of the peak summer heat.
