The water and air quility is being tested daily by the federal goverment and our area continues to test clear. We will have new YouTube videos
posted tonight or tomorrow so you can see how beautiful our beach and water is. At this time the planes that fly daily tell us the sheen is 9
miles off of our beach moving east.

Update June 7, 2010
As of today Edgewater's water and beach is still beautiful. There have been no signs of oil of any kind. The wind is expected to shift
tomorrow and begin blowing from the north so hopefully this will keep our area oil free. All 26 miles of Walton County beaches are free
and clean of oil.
Update June 6, 2010

Update May 21, 2010
THE ONLY OIL ON OUR BEACH IS SUNTAN OIL
So far our beaches have not been affected by the BP oil disaster. At this time we are not expecting any problems from this spill in the
next few weeks. Should the oil start towards our area and appear emminent to arrive Edgewater will issue a refund of your deposit and also
give you a 10% off certificate to apply to your next stay.
Edgewater appreciates all of our guest and we understand the importance of being
able to make your vacation plans with the confidance that you will be able to get your deposit back in time to make other plans should we
find the oil is approching our waters or our beach.
Important Gulf Update - May 6, 2010
As Walton and Okaloosa County officials monitor the current situation in the western Gulf of Mexico, the shores along Destin and Northwest Florida
beaches look fantastic! The sand is still sugar white and the water is as emerald as ever. So, if you’re planning on visiting now and throughout
the summer, please keep those plans!
Over the past 48 hours, the winds have shifted in favor of Florida’s beaches pushing the oil further west in the Gulf of Mexico and away from our
shores. This will allow more time for containment and treatment by the ever growing fleet of vessels throughout the gulf waters. State and local
officials are gaining some confidence that preventative measures will be successful.
Because changes come about hourly and 30 days is a long way away, we are asking you to wait before canceling your vacation, especially those of you
who are scheduled to arrive more than 30 days from today. Rest assured, we will keep you informed over the coming days and weeks regarding any
changes in conditions.
To help our guests with their vacation planning, Edgewater Beach management has modified our cancellation policy regarding this situation:
Gulf of Mexico - Deepwater Horizon Incident Cancellation Policy
We are advising all guests of Edgewater Beach Condominium to please wait until closer to your arrival date before canceling due to the oil
spill. If, at that time, it is necessary for you to cancel your reservation because of eminent oil landfall in the Destin area, you will not be
charged for a late cancellation. If you are already at Edgewater Beach Condominium at the time of landfall, you will be refunded any unused
portion of your rent if you choose to check-out early. If the oil spill does make landfall on our beaches, we will cancel your reservation with
no penalty and you will receive a coupon for 10% off rebooking your next vacation as long as it is in the same season. For any questions
regarding this policy please call 800-822-4929.
So, please feel free to make your reservation with confidence knowing you have flexibility if the need arises.
